About the event
Scream Church is BACK, now at a new location. We'll be seeing you at Vibe Gym & Wellness Collective! These sessions include psychedlic breathwork, somatic scream, and integration practices.Â
The idea behind Scream Church is to create community through Sunday rituals and self-love practices and to embody the idea that self-care is community-care. By taking care of ourselves, we are better able to show up for others.
This Sunday’s event will include a fully-guided breathwork journey, incorporating active breathing technique, reiki infusion, sound frequency, and somatic Screamwerk (TM).
Active Breathwork
An active, conscious breathing technique to facilitate:
- emotional release
- transformative inner healing
- deep insights
- self-exploration
The experience will be set to carefully curated music to bring you on a powerful journey into profound states of awareness using only sound, breath, and body.
This journey will combine dynamic breathing techniques from ancient traditions and research from modern neuroscience together with evocative music that will enable you to bypass the mind and drop into your body.
By entering an altered state of consciousness, breath work allows us to access parts of our subconscious that we usually aren't aware of, or cannot connect to.
You will experience how deep active breathing helps to quiet the mind to access and release unprocessed energy and emotions in the body, gain clarity and insight and connect deeper with yourself.
Somatic Screamwerk- the HOLY SCREAM
A full body energetic release via screaming into a pillow has the following benefits:
- facilitates letting go
- reduces tension levels
- triggers endorphins causing a natural high
The scream release will happen towards the end of the breath work journey, giving a place to push out any anger or sadness that may have come to the surface (you will scream into a pillow). This allows you to get into your body and let go.
The primal urge to scream has the capacity to take us back to a childhood state, where we may be holding onto repressed trauma or unhealthy patterns. By participating in primal scream therapy, we can revisit and release these pent-up emotions by giving voice to them, then pushing them out.

This form of breathwork has the potential to bring about intense feelings. Because of the strong physical and emotional releases that may arise, it is not recommended for some people. Talk to your doctor before practicing this type of breathing if you have a history of:
cardiovascular disease, angina, heart attack, high blood pressure, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, recent injury or surgery, any condition for which you take regular medications, history of panic attacks, psychosis, or disturbances, severe mental illness like schizophrenia, seizure disorder, family history of aneurism.
Breathwork is also not recommended for pregnant women or breastfeeding women.
Active breathwork may bring about intense emotions and painful memories that could worsen symptoms. Because of this, some professionals recommend that it be used in conjunction with ongoing therapy. This gives you the chance to work through and overcome any issues that arise. We will be sharing local resources during our integration circle. Most people practice the technique without any adverse side effects.

We have several reserved parking spots on the west side of the building as well as street parking on the north side and an overflow lot on the south side.
